Cost Accountant - Jr. Financial Analyst

Testrite Visual is looking to hire an analytically oriented self-starter who can properly prioritize and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
 
The individual needs to be able to understand the parameters for a physical item that we need to price, ask the right questions to understand the factors driving cost, and accurately price the item in a timely manner. The ability to follow through is critical.
 
This is a challenging and dynamic position.
 
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Estimate the cost to produce items – both standard and custom products, in a repeatable and verifiable manner.
  • Write up quotes that are simple, clear and understandable
  • Work with procurement and manufacturing to gather the information needed to quote, and ensure products are made to match the specifications developed
  • Participate in product design using knowledge of in-house materials.
  • Multi-task, prioritize, ensure that simple quotes get out quickly, efficiently and with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Help drive sales.
  • Assist in special projects as needed.

Individual will report to the FP & A Director of our growth oriented small business, interacting regularly with Procurement, the Plant Manager, VP of Sales, and President. Must work collaboratively with sales, engineering, and production.
 
The individual needs to be hands on, ready to do the legwork from start to finish themselves, while operating in a fast-paced team environment.
 
Individual needs to be ultra-organized and extremely detail oriented.
 
The ideal candidate has analytical experience, is detail oriented, is quick, is able to check his or her own work, and is excited to think through how a product can be made using the capabilities and parts available.
 
This is a terrific, dynamic position suited for a like individual. The primary responsibility is to develop pricing, which touches on all the areas of our business. You’ll work with our leadership team to understand how we build our products to ensure we price them appropriately.
 
We have requests for custom projects every day. You’ll work with engineering to determine how new products should be built, cost them out, write up the price quote, work with the art department to get a rendering made, and send the quote to the customer through our sales team.
 
This is an interesting and rewarding role where you’ll use numbers to help price out real items that we’ll make in our own factory ~ 50 feet from where you’ll be sitting.
 
Candidate requirements

  • Strong Excel skills required.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required > a Degree in business (Accounting, Finance) or Engineering a plus.
  • Experience in a metal working environment or some form of product design a plus.
  • Engineering background a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
  • Must be comfortable developing estimates.
  • Must have good memory retention – especially with numbers.
