How to Select a Banner Stand For Your Project

Finding the right banner stand that suits your needs can be a challenge. There are so many considerations you should take into account when selecting a banner stand, including the type of media you plan to use and how you plan to mount the media in the banner stand.

Graphic media for banner stand

The first question to answer for many customers is what type of graphic does the customer want to print. Testrite can consult on this very question. Factors that lead customers to decide what media to print on include cost per print, how often the prints will be changed out, portability, ease of install, and quality needs. Paper is the cheapest media that can be used in Testrite’s banner stands, enabling very low cost graphic changes, ideal for applications with frequent graphic changes. Styrene media is also rollable, and provides truly beautiful graphic reproduction, especially where text definition is critical. Banner stands with dye sublimated fabric prints are beautiful for higher end applications, offer a fantastic texture, are cheap to ship and scale up very well, though they’re less ideal for fine text detail. Graphic mounting

Once you’ve decided on what type of graphic media you plan to use, the next step is to figure out what type of graphic mounting you want in your banner stand. Testrite has banner stand options for all mounting types, and the choice of what mounting style can help narrow down to which stand will work best in your application. Next we’ll go through the different mounting style options.

 

Pole Pocket

The pole pocket is our all time best-selling graphic mount for Banner Stands. Stands that feature Pole Pocket mounting include top and bottom dowels that the graphic is wrapped around. Pole pocket banner stands are often used with fabric and vinyl, though paper media can be used. Our narrow format, Classic Banner stand includes a center mount adjustable height upright with steel base. Pole pockets front and back enables users to add a graphic to both the front and back of the stand. While our Classic Banner stand goes up to 24” W x 96” H, we also have our Promo Banner stands which offer economy and up to 72” H, or our BN3 which can accomodate 36” W x 114” H banners, or provide even greater stability for smaller banners. You can also choose different base options including the square base, round base, presto base, and travel base where portability is key.
 
Testrite also offers Pole Pocket Grand Format or Large Format Banner Stands in our BN5 and JN5, as well as our recently introduced American Eagle Banner Stand. The BN5 is the everyday hero of the large format banner stand line, with adjustability out of the box for a graphic up to 96” H x 96” W. Those desiring even more rigidity opt for the JN5, which is the same as the BN5 but offers ~50% larger tubing diameters. Both the BN5 and JN5 can be upgraded to accomodate 10’ x 10’ and 12’ x 12’ grpahics with our in stock conversion kits.
 
For customers who want simplicity over adjustability, our large format American Eagle Banner stand delivers. Ideal for retail applications and high end events, the American Eagle Banner stand ensures that your uprights and crossbars are always at the right dimension, looking their best, and featuring beautiful oval steel bases and aluminum pucks. 

Pillowcase Banner Stands for Fabric Graphics

Our Pillowcase banner stands are extremely popular as the costs of printing on fabric have declined. These stands offer tremendous visual coverage, as all hardware except the base is shrouded in graphic. 
 
Our Harmony Banner Stand is the narrow format option in freestanding pillowcase design. The unit can be assembled in under 1 minute, and graphic changes are just as fast and easy. Our stand features a tool free design and no zipper is needed on the bottom. This is the dye sublimation fabric banner stand of choice for the Fortune 500 because it delivers. Offered standard in 24” W, 30” W, 36” W and 72” H and 84” H, these stands are popular in custom sizes and custom base colors. Our Harmony Air is the industry’s only airline carry-on banner stand.
 
For those looking for larger pillowcase stands, our VG and Straight Flatwalls are large format fabric banner stands. Made by Testrite in the USA, they offer up to 20’ Length standard and larger as custom orders. These are tool free, with numbered sections to make assembly easy. Replacement graphics for a 20’ wall fit in a small box, making graphic changeouts easy and providing tremendous freight savings. Print one side, or two sides of your graphic, it’s your choice!
 
For those looking for a different shape, our Alle Pillowcase banner stands are worth a look. They offer all the value of a pillowcase banner stand with unique shapes that demand attention.

Graphic Gripper banner stand - no graphic finishing required

We have customers who don’t want to do ANY finishing of their graphics after they are printed. For those customers, who encourage them to visit our Snap in graphic banner stands. 
 
The Nexus Banner stand features the strong grip of our EasyOpen Aluminum Snapframe on an adjustable upright, accommodating graphics up to 36” W x 96” H, single or double sided. The snapbar includes a closed cell high friction tape to keep your graphic right where you put it. Users can easily adjust the SnapBar’s adjustable bottom crossbar to create the right amount of tension.
 
For those looking for other snapbar options, Testrite’s GripGraphic banner stand does not require graphic finishing. It features aluminum sheaths and plastic gripper sections to securely hold onto your image. The GripGraphic is also a telescopic banner stand and includes knurled locks. 
 
The Apollo Banner Stands, MB5/MB6 and GCO banner stands round out the Graphic Gripper line of banner stands. 

Hook/Loop Banner Stands

 Hook/loop banner stands feature velcro that enables you to easily adjust and change display images. Testrite supplies Velcro ® Brand Hook Loop fastener with our banner stands, because we know quality matters to our customers.
 
Our Mercury Retractable Banner stand is the world’s best retractable banner stand, the premium retractable banner stand that printers rely on when they can’t accept high failure rates common with imported banner stands. The US Made Mercury Retractable  accommodates 24” W,  33” W, 36” W, 48” W or 60” W graphics, all up to 96” H single or double sided. By leveraging Velcro ® Brand Hook Loop, these stands eliminate the need for costly canisters. They include adjustable center poles that change the display height. 
 
The most recent addition to Testrite’s line of Hook/Loop banner stands is the Simple Standee Square tubing. Much like it’s sibling, the Ultra Banner stand, these two units promise to hide the hardware once graphics are attached. Hook loop means graphic changes are easy and affordable. Graphics can be high impact without showing much hardware. Some call these our invisible banner stands.
